Scott McLaurin joined Brandon Area Primary Care in October 2009. He graduated with honors from Florida Southern College, Lakeland in 1997 with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance. After working several years as a musician, he decided to pursue his lifelong interest in medicine. In 2005, he began working at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in direct patient care while attending pre-requisite courses for Physician Assistant School at The University of South Florida. He graduated with honors from the Nova Southeastern University Orlando Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Medical Science Degree. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Since 2004, he has volunteered time at The Wilson House, a recovery house for chronic, indigent male substance abusers in Lakeland. He has also been a volunteer practitioner at the Brandon Outreach Clinic since joining BAPC in 2009. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, and music.
